Leesburg attorney Jody L. Fisher was born and raised in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and found her way to Florida in 1999 to attend law school.
She has been practicing law since 2002 when she started her career as a prosecutor with the Fifth Judicial State Attorney’s Office in Marion County. From there, Jody transferred closer to home in the Sumter County State Attorney’s Office working in the juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony divisions where she successfully prosecuted hundreds of cases.
In 2006, Jody started her own firm located in Leesburg, Florida. After working at the State Attorney’s Office, Jody was able to easily transition to private practice specializing in criminal defense and family law. Understanding that most clients are dealing with a difficult and overwhelming time in their lives – whether it is an arrest, divorce or a child custody matter – Jody makes herself and her staff available to clients.
Attorney Fisher is well trained and understands the complexity of the legal system and how it affects clients both immediately and going forward. She further recognizes that a client’s decisions made today during a highly emotional time will be decisions that they will have to live with in the future. Jody works to ensure that the practical matters are taken care of and that you will not have to live with a decision that could cost you your child, retirement or even your liberty.
Jody lives locally in Central Florida with her husband, daughter, and son. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at the local animal shelter, watching her daughter compete in hunter/jumper competitions, taking motorcycle rides with her husband and son, and spending quiet time on the beach.
